Meet Aggeliki Matsouka, Popie’s mother, and Ares, her beloved dog.

Ares was Aggeliki’s first dog (we’ve had a whole lot of cats, parrots and fish, up to that point), and her first challenge as a pet owner! How do you train your furry friend to be a good boy, if there isn’t a dog trainer in your small town, and not enough content online in your language? 

In Aggeliki’s case, she turned to Popie, who also has a dog, and asked her to translate some tips and tricks, and even put subtitles on a video or two that Popie had found from dog trainers on YouTube. But that was not enough. Even with her limited English, Aggeliki could see there was a whole world of dog training content out there, and she could not access it due to the language barrier. That led to Popie’s idea: help other owners, like her mother, gain access to content they would find invaluable for the care and training of their pets. And thus, Pawsome Translations was born!

Combining Popie’s expertise in medical and pharmaceutical, IT, and technical translation, along with her team of (also animal lovers) in-house linguists, and a large network of external colleagues, Pawsome Translation caters to both individuals and companies.
